Christine May Turner (AKA 'mother' to Gav Roberts) is indeed the queen matriarch of ROMP. Christine has been coming since it all began and is an avid supporter and participant in all Romp does.
Christine writes a wide range of poetry that spans everything for the personal and tender and the Yorkshire and funny. She has two poetry address books available to buy.
"Romp means family to me". Christine Turner
Gav Roberts has taken the local spoken word scene by storm in the last few years with his captivating stage presence and gritty and tender narrative poems. He is something of a local hero in Rotherham for his brainchild ROMP and for his dedication to free and democratic creativity through words. More about where Gav's performed (manc etc.) and CD he's on. Etc.
"It's about the pull, not the push". Gav Roberts
Tair Rafiq [half of Rotherham comedy sketch duo Hot Beanz] is known as a quiet genius]. Only through other people do we ever get to hear his words, and but boy, they're good! Tair would hate for us to add his picture here (he loves being mysterious), but to make up for it he's provided a picture of his glorious Yorkshire Rose Tea Cake and links to his blog and Carousel Bakes facebook. Yes Tair is also a master local cake maker!
"ROMP, it's the place with the pick and mix hat". Tair Rafiq
